Usage & Operations
Usage Scenarios
The following real world scenarios illustrate what ProLinkz can do for you.
SCENARIO 1—Alex was testing ezine advertising to promote his site, but his server logs didn’t show which ads were actually performing, since they all lead to the same URL. He tried setting up separate “entry pages” for each ad, but not only was it a hassle, it was still difficult to isolate and extract the log data he needed. With ProLinkz, Alex was able to easily set up unique links for each ad, even with all of them leading to the same entry page. Now Alex knows exactly how many hits he gets from each ad, data that tells him him which ad to drop or change, and which ones not to touch and keep running as-is.
SCENARIO 2—Janice actively promoted a number of affiliate programs, and even wrote her own ad copy to set herself apart from the other affiliates. But her affiliate links gave away and revealed what programs she was promoting, and were very long and unwieldy to boot. Many of her prospects bypassed Janice’s affiliate coding (by accident or on purpose) and went to the merchant site directly; many also clicked on the links of ads placed by her competitors that appeared close by, since they all looked practically the same. Good for the affiliate program merchant, but obviously not Janice. So she got ProLinkz to disguise her links, not to mention measure and track her unique ad copy’s effectiveness.

SCENARIO 3—Phillip spent countless hours on his blog, finding, compiling and maintaining a large collection of links to various resources related to his “niche” area of interest. One day he saw a lot of his content on another site, copied verbatim, links and all, without his consent! He decided to convert all the URLs in his directory to ProLinkz-coded links, branding every single link with his domain as a result, and helping him prevent content thievery with ProLinkz’s built-in referral tracking that helped detect usage from theft and other unusual activity. ProLinkz also let him easily change or disable link destinations, messing up the thieves’ copied links and keeping them hopping!
SCENARIO 4—Susan loved the way her server log analysis tool gave her “big picture” traffic reports, but she despised the difficulty and effort it took to drill down and measure activity for a few specific links. So she converted the links she wanted to watch closely into ProLinkz-coded links, taking advantage of the script’s precise link tracking abilities, giving her on-the-fly counts for exactly the links she wants to track without needing to wrestle with her server’s unwieldy log data files.
And there are many more ways ProLinkz can be put to work. this site, in fact, give you even more real world useful ProLinkz application ideas and practical solutions you can implement with very little effort.
Operations
To your users, a ProLinkz link works like any other link, except that it’s your domain they see in that link, regardless of its end destination. There are no discernable pauses (server-dependent, of course), nor are there tell-tale “redirecting, please wait”-type messages as ProLinkz does its thing!
To you, all administrative, management, and reporting tasks are handled through the intuitive, easy-to-use, and secure Web-based ProLinkz administrative Control Panel console.
